FIXXING A MITSUBISHI DLP 65731 HDTV REPLACING THE PROJECTION LAMP COVER

I AM FIXXING A MITSUBISHI DLP 65731 HDTV I HAVE REPLACED THE MIRROR. I HAVE REPLACED THE LENS/SCREEN KIT. BUT I DISCOVERED THAT THE PROJECTION LAMP HAS A SCRATCH ON ITS COVER THAT CREATES A L;ONG BLURRY LINE ON THE TV SCREEN. CAN I REPLACE THE PROJECTION LAMP COVER ONLY OR I NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE LAMP. IN OTHER WORDS, IS THAT COVER SEPARABLE FROM THE PROJECTION LAMP OR IS IT PART OF THAT LAMP. IF IT IS SEPARABLE IS IT AVAILABLE TO BUY?

What color is it over and can you see the scratch enough to tell if its under or over the lens. Yes it is 2 parts but fluid lies in between. For more info ctechnicians.com

Why won't replacement lamp turn on?

Check connections. If the new lamp was not seated properly or the connector was not seated properly, the controller won't turn the lamp ON. It might be that damage to the lamp power supply may have occurred due to the old lamp failing. If so, then replace the lamp power supply board. Also, be sure that the cooling fans and filters are vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned and lubricated with a tiny drop of Z-Max on each bearing. Regards.

If its a DLP with a high pitched or even fan like sound it is the color wheel--Mitsubishi does not sell them as a part---you would have to replace the entire light engine (expensive and may not be available any more on a older set) .

Turned on tv, no picture, only sound

the problem is likely the projection lamp .. you can replace that yourself if you are handy .. you must unplug the set and make sure everything is cool ...avoid getting finger prints on the new lamp ...here are a few places where you can get a new lamp ... you can also see what it looks like on this site ...

http://www.bluestar-online.com/Mitsubishi_Model_WD_65731_Replacement_DLP_Lamp_p/wd-65731.htm?gclid=CLb9k4zf-6ACFdk55QodwT3dxw

the lamp is likely in a cubby in the back of the set (where you used to see the bright light) ...

the lamp is mounted in a cage ... you can get the lamp already mounted in a new cage from here ...

http://purelandsupply.com/WD65731-Mitsubishi-DLP-TV-Bulbs.html

......it costs more mounted but its easier to change and you will need a new cage if yours is damaged .. from the site above you can see what the cage looks like with the lamp already mounted ..

your lamp is a model 915p049010 ... that is available thru amazon at a good price here:.(includes cage)........

I have a 57" mitsubishi 1080 dlp tv and it has a white dot on the picturewhat is it and how to fix it.thanks terry

If the dot is there whatever the image source / input are you using then the defect is in the DLP panel - the mirrors from the panel corresponding that dot aren't commanded anymore. It can't be fixed, the panel must be replaced. It will be expensive.

Changing the lamp on a Mitsubishi DLP WD-65731, when trying to put back the cartridge, it semms that it does not go all the way in since the two screws do dot reach the nut.

Look inside the tunnel with alight see if the contact plug is straight. Sometimes this plug can get bent to the side a little.

the buzzing noise you are hearing is from the lamp ballast as it strikes the lamp. that is quite normal but it should only be momentary. it should not be constant.
