Question about Gateway 450ROG Notebook

No POST, DVD-ROM symbol lights red

After turning on I don't see the POST. The screen stays black and the onle sound I hear is ventilator noise. The small display just near the main switch with dvd-rom symbol on it lights red. I've pull out the dvd-rom module, replaced the hard drive, battery module and memory plate one after one (I have to of them) - the same result. What can be wrong? One my assumption is the laptop power connector. The central rod in it became loose. I could check it but not sure how to get inside. Can you give me a hint? Another assumption is cpu. The only thing I know about it that it's Intel Centrino because of the sticker on the dashboard. Can you give me more information about it? To check or replace cpu I also need to know how to onen my laptop.

This sounds like my problem too, Another user has posted this problem as well. I have had the power jack on my compu fixed recently, but maybe that's a coincidence. It does the same thing with just the battery in, so I don't see how that could be the problem.

Samsung s3 phone wont turn on only red light stays on and a buzzing noise sounds and wont turn on need help

Shut it down by holding the power button until the screen goes black, don't tap the power off button, wait for the black screen. Then let your phone charge for a few hours (maybe over night) with power off and see if that helps.

My cd rom is not reading any disc and i keep hearing a clicking sound.

Go to
1-my computer
2-then properties
3-then device manager
4-then look for your cd-rom
5-uninstall the driver (only if you have the cd-rom installation program from the manuf.) and restart your PC
If you don,t then find any conflicts in the device manager "like a yellow symbol" and if you find any try to "update driver".

Powers on wont post but dvd rom

Eject any disk from the DVD device.
Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the "data" and/or the "power" connectors from the DVD-ROM.
Turn the computer on, and see if it starts when the DVD-ROM is not part of your system.
If it starts, then your DVD-ROM needs to be replaced.

Plasma tvs do not have "back lights" LCDs do. you probably have a bad driver board along with the upper or lower buffer board or maybe both, best to have a tv shop look at it.

Steady orange light above the battery looking symbol

it sounds like you might have a bad board or memory card. If you dont hear the normal sounds from the computer as it boots up, its an internal problem.

Mother board problem

The noise must be coming from the power supply. The only thing running before you press the power on button is the PSU.
Unplug the power cord on the PSU. Check the back of the PSU for a red slide switch. Make sure it is set for 115v. Than disconnect the main power from the motherboard. Plud in the power cord, (still hear the high pitch noise?). Swap out your power supply.
