Poor resolution when pixs transferred to pc

Have Sony DCR-DVD 108 camcorder. Pictures transferred to pc are not as clear as on camcorder. Does this have to do with pixel settings? Do you have a suggestion?

I have the same problem. I got my camcorder from amazon (in sep,2009). I used this once, but when I transferred the pictures to my laptop, pictures were not clear.

I tried the following but failed:
(a) Resetting the camcorder
(b) Turning the power OFF and ON
(c) Checking lens for some dirt.

Please suggest what can be done to make pictures more clear.

First make sure to finalize recorded disc in camcorder, finalization option is available in camcorder menu and will be enable by powering camcorder with AC charger/ adapter.
Now you can transfer movie files in computer or put recorded disc in computer dvd rom and copy files.

I want to transfer the video from my handycam sony dcr trv 285e to my laptop for burning the dvd i dont have the driver cd pls help Rgds Bhupesh

to transfer video from your camcorder to your pc you will need a firewire cable (ieee 1394). only with this cable you will be able to transer video.
you will also need a firewire port on your pc.
if you don't have one then you can buy a firewire pci card.

see this for info and pictures

Problem formatting mini dvd+rw disc

The full user manual is available at:

If the procedure fails, the disk may be corrupt but you might try formatting the disk on your pc.

Hope this helps. Please rate reply if it does thanks.

Format Error

First option would be to attempt to read the disk in another DVD player, for example on a PC. If that succeeds then transferring the data can be done via the PC. Another thing to try is to reset your Camcorder - refer to the manual to locate the switch and then try again. If neither works then re-formatting is probably the only answer. Always format the disks in the camcorder - not elsewhere.Good luck.
