Question about RCA 27V530T 27" TV
It had a smell once it seems to heat up. i would cut it off. one day i let it stay on even though it had the smell. it keep cutting iself off. hat day i decided to leave it on since it was staying on tha day even hough it had the smell. it finally cut itself off. and ive been unable to get itt to cut back on. can you help me?
Contrary to what you have heard, transistors and chips are silicone and do not age. the components that are more likely to break down are coils and transformers. Any reputable shop can fix an RCA, they are still good sets.

How old is this TV?
My experiance is to not put money into a TV that is over ten years old. TVs stress out their electronic components worse than almost any other electronic product. After 10 years, there are so many parts that are ready to fail that your are probably wasting your money trying to get any more life out of it.
Another option is to wholesale replace the main board from an outfit like Module Exchange at 972-298-1212
Be careful on buying a new one though. Often times, these new technology ones are much worse. Always Google the model number of the set you intend to buy and add the word 'repair' or 'complaint' to see if it is one of the many models that are customer service nightmares being produced by even the most reputable companies today.
Hope ya fix it!
