Hi, I run the ricovery disc yesterday but missed the ethernet card driver.

There is a driver disc with this lan card. If you haven't got it when you buy it, it will be very difficult to install it from the net. Anyway, try to download it from the following links. Wich a CD, it will take about 30 to 40 minutes to install the sofftware fully. The disc will install both LAN card driver and Nvedia driver together.

Hi Try to detect the D-link card you have by entering here : http://www.ma-config.com/en/home/ then click on "Run the detection" After installing the plugin you can see all the drivers you have. Select the ethernet card driver and then download it. Finally install it.

Verify if the driver is installed properly for the ethernet card using the device manager. If the device is not shown in the devoce manager, make sure the wiring for the card is done properly and there is no loose connection. If the problem continues, try replacing the ethernet card. If that too fails, there is some problem with your computer mother board

First thing to try, is to do a system restore. You can go back to an earlier time. Pick the lastest time right before you installed the updates. System restore should be found in the Control Panel.

It seems that after re-installing windows you have missed the Driver installation for your hardware. If you have a disk (which reads Drivers and Utilities) that came with your computer, You can insert it in your CD Driver and select the Driver for Network adapter. If you do not have a disc, you can always visit the Dell's support site i.e.:support.dell.com and Get the drivers suitable for your hardware by selecting the model or Entering the Service Tag of your Dell computer.

dear brother i hope you got the cd/dvd with your laptop when you bought it.
put that cd in and run it
it will install the driver

PCI Modem is your dial up modem, Ethernet Controller is your Network Card, and SM Bus Controller is your Motherboard Chipset drivers. There missing because your Operating System has Either Corrupt Drivers or they were never installed in the first place. Sounds like a fresh installation was done and nobody bothered to look in the device manager to see if any hardware drivers were missing.

While operating in the windows mode, insert your mac os leopard disc and it should auto launch the program that will allow you to install all needed drivers and settings.
The mac os disc will completely set up your computer in window... but let it run fully.. don't interrupt it.. this should set up for your wifi screen res etc...
If you need help with printer drivers... download a copy of Bonjour from apple...it's free and it will find your printers and set it up for you!
Way to go Mac... way to make windows work!

The recovery disc is run during the start up of the computer not in windows. But I do have a suggestion on the Code 39 problem.
