I have a Hitachi cam DZ-MV750E which takes video just fine on mini DVD-R and on mini DVD-RAM but when I try to bring the video to my PC nothing shows up.
I have tried to install the programs which came with the camera - MovieAlbum SE 4.1 and DVDfunStudio but only get the following error message:-
Component: Disk<1>
File Group: Disk 1 Files(1)
File: c:program filesInstalShield Installation Information
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
I have Windows XP and all updates. I use DVD RW drive HP DVD 940 which supports DVD Ram amongst others.
I have tried to use Windows Movie Maker and Nero's movie package but without success. Windows Movie Maker at least finds the camera when it is plugged into the USB port but will not "see" the disks.
Can anyone help me load up and edit my New Zealand videos......!!
Many thanks for reading this far.

Have you tried clicking "Preferences" - "Device Setting" - then "Drive Select" - if you have a DVD burner and the camera you must select which drive you want to read from (took me a while to find that one out),,, Hope that helps.

I never did get any answers. What I do now is copy the VRO file to my desktop and rename it by putting MP3 in.
I fortunately have Nero 6 as my burning programme which allows you to edit video.
After much trial and error getting used to the routines, I have managed to get my New Zealand video on to disk and can successfully watch them on the normal players.
I have not yet managed to edit the scenes much but when time allows no doubt it will come.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I want to put video from the camera on my PC , but I do not know how. Can someone please help me. Much thanks.
me too!!!! Why can't I transfer my DVD R discs to the PC via DVD Movie album SE.I hane "finalised" DVD-r disc, I have downloaded all of the software, connected DZ-MV750E via USB got onto movie album SE and the DVD R disc is not showing and I get amessage like wrong format etc. I really don't think you can transfer these DVD -R (as recommended by Comet when we purchased camcorder) which is a shame to go out and buy DVD ram discs when I have 15 of these others with 3 years worth of footage on them....I am frustrated!!!
same issue here. i have a panasonic vdr-300 and want to edit using dvd movie album se, but even tho i have finalized the disc and set up correctly, the disc is still protected or locked and the buttons stay grayed out and i cannot edit. in the manual it says something about the vdr-300 not being able to be used as a drive with the software. how to go about getting the discs to another drive besides the camcorder? frustrating, wish i would hv known b4 i wouldn't hv bought this camera.
