I've been trying to reverse the dryer door hinge so that it opens from left to right. Seems easy to switch, but not so. Took entire door apart trying to remove hinge. Unsuccessful! Any suggestions?

I just did it too but can't get the locking tabs unlocked (by turning the inner ring clockwise) to spin the glass 180° like the instructions say. So my new dryer sits with the door laying in parts off of the dryer. Any suggestions on how to get those tabs unlocked? I can see how it works but tried but I guess I'm not strong enough.

I just did it twice because I couldn't make up my mind. Just remove the door. remove all philips head screws and remove the "layers" of the door. Remove the hinge assembly and the "blank" on the opposite side. Now you have to lift off the plastic ring AND glass and spin it 360. (thats the part that tricked me) no you can reassemble.

I've searched around for DIY instructions, but those are exceedingly difficult to locate. It seems that Whirlpool wants you to buy their Door Reversal Kit for 11.99 in order to accomplish this.

How to change doors from right to left on Whirlpool Duet

Duet dryer doors cannot be reversed for the swing. They wil only open one way. Depending on your model of washer the newers ones will allow you to reverse the door swing without a kit. The older units require a kit to reverse the washer door.

Dryer does not stop when you open door

The door switch is sticking. Door switch is around the door opening and is located where the door would push it in when the door is closed. It may just need cleaning or putting back in its rightful place or it may be broken and need replacing.

More info, let me know.

Is it possible to reverse door swing on dryer? My daughter has a new Elite front load dryer that swings from left.

Your dryer is designed so the door swing may be reversed at any time without additional parts. Conversion is accomplished by transferring hinges to the opposite side of the cabinet.
To change the direction of the door opening:
1. Open the dryer door. Remove the four hinge hole plugs from the left side of the door opening. Place nearby for future installation. NOTE: You may need a plastic knife to help pull out the plugs. Be careful not to scratch the paint.

2. Remove the four screws that secure the door hinges to the dryer front panel (see below). NOTE: Remove one screw from each of the two hinges first. Hold the door firmly before removing the last two screws.

3. Rotate the door 180° and reinstall the door hinges to the dryer front panel with the four screws.

4. Install the four hinge hole plugs in the open screw holes on the right side of the door opening.

Hope this helped Tim

Zanussi ZDC67550 Dryer, door swing change?

just reversed the doors in 15-20 mins. It worked for me. You do need to be a competent DIYer to do this.
If in doubt, do now't. Get in an engineer

Disconnect from mains (obviously)
Remove top using 7mm nut driver/spanner
Remove 2 cross-head screws holding the door - Door will come away from dryer.
Remove 2 cross-head screws holding the white top and bottom blanking plates
pull out the switch blanking plate
Locate the PINK wires connecting the switch/latch mechanism inside the dryer at the top. This will be taped to a blue wire.
Unscrew the 2 smaller cross-head screws holding the latch/switch assembly whilst holding the pink wire to stop the mechanism dropping inside the dryer.
Pull up the latch mechanism and unravel the black tape holding it to the blue wire.
Drop the latch assembly down the lefthand side of the dryer and refit using the 2 small cross-head screws.
Retape to the blue wier and feed the PINK wires through the plastic retainers.
Fit the white blanking plates to the RIGHT handside of the door opening.
Swap the hinges and the switch latch on the door (don't lose the spring !!!, refitting the hinge blanking plates(ease these out with a small flathead screwdriver covered witha bit of insulating tape to avoid damage.)
Fit the door using the 2 cross-head screws you have left
Refit the top.

Connect to the mains and switch on to the sound of £80 you have just saved yourself !!

Electricity kills Be careful
