Keyboard intermittent I purchased an E-machine a year ago. Sometimes the keyboard would quit working until a re-boot was done. I bought a wireless keyboard and using the same ps2 port, I am still having the same problem. Any advice? Thanks.

Any cordless phones in the vicinity? Have you noticed the keyboard stopping after receiving a phone call? Try placing the phone away from your work area. Usually, most wireless keyboard/mouse packages will come with a ps2 to usb adapter. Try using it and see what happens. I would also change the batteries. Does the keyboard start working again after hitting the connect buttons (bottom of keyboard & on the transmitter/receiver??)

There might be a problem with the keyboards PS2 port. You can bypass the PS2 port all together by buying a PS2 Y-adapter to usb port. This Y adapter will allow you to plug your PS2 mouse & keyboard into it and than you plug the other end into a free usb port. You do not have to plug the PS2 mouse in if you do not want to. Just plug in the keyboard. If your keyboard functions than there is a prolem with the keyboard's PS2 port. The PS2 Y-adapter to USB runs about $12.00 to $15.00. You can find one at Wallmart.

KeyBoard and Mouse Detection Problem

Try the batteries in the keyboard and mouse, they are likely to start dying at the same time if the batteries were put in at the same time and this will definitely cause intermittant connection issues.

Wireless keyboard quit working all of a sudden. Changed batteries, rebooted still won't work. Wireless mouse still works.

DId you receive any drivers to use with the keyboard? If you did, try reinstalling them. If you dont have them, search google for the model of the keyboard you have, and try to download them and install them.
If it doesnt work, the best thing to do is to call the customer service from where you bought your keyboard. They just stop working sometimes for no reason. If you still have warranty, they probably will give you a new keyboard.

On booting up, computer can not load keyboard system.

One possible problem is that your PS2 keyboard port at the back of your PC is ruined. In time, those so called "outlets" become loose specially the ones with cables which usually got pulled or tangled and make the port strained and the contacts get loose.
If that is the case, you might need to replace the keyboard port, or just stick with your usb keyboard.

Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
