This unit is seven years old and has worked fine until a few weeks ago. It will fill but when agitation tries to start it makes a humming sound for 15 seconds and then sits for five minutes and repeats this until I turn it off or it starts. Could start in an hour, half hour, overnight or not at all. Will do this on and off for a week or two then work fine for a week or month.
All other functions work. Jumped the lid switch even though it always agitated with the lid open. Checked the capacitor and seemed fine as much as and ohm meter can indicate. Disconnected the capacitor and it made the same sound but spin stopped working.
When it happens there is no reason and nothing can be done to start it, just let it sit and will start running when it wants to.
Can this be a thermal breaker problem and is it replaceable by it self or is it part of the motor?
