Question about LG 42PC3DV 42 in. Plasma EDTV

1 Answer

Highlights on flesh tones are purple

We have already had this TV looked at, but the part replaced under warranty did not fix the problem. When faces have a shine or highlights, instead of being fleshtoned, the highlighted areas appear pale purple.

Either the diffusion has not been aligned properly or the unit has a bad Plasma panel. If the unit is an LG plasma it carries a 2 year warranty and you should contact LG for the nearest auth. service center.

Hello, I have a JVC HD-61FN97 TV. I had to replace the old lamp (recommended by the TV's timer)with a new lamp. I clean out some dust in the housing and installed the new lamp. It looked great! but...

Did you use an after-market lamp?
Sometimes after-market lamps cause this defect. Even if it is the OEM lamp, I think it is worth to try a new lamp. I would return the one just purchased as defective.

When I print the picture has a purple haze in it ?

If you are using re-manufactured ink tanks, that would explain it, a mi-matched ink tank. To clarify the ink colour is not quite right.

If genuine ink tanks (Recommended) then maybe try different paper. If using photo paper you should be using compatible / genuine paper as the different chemicals react can give this problem.

If using fax / standard paper then could be print head fault....normally get an error code.

Hello , I just purchased a 26" Toshiba LCD/HD flat screen TV today. The floor model had the nicest picture at Circut City of the other 26" TVs - but they were hooked up to receive HDTV. When I got it home,...

Yes, the newer flat panel TV's look great with HDTV but amplify the substandard analog TV signals.

I would compare the non HD to VCR quality. If that is what you are seeing then this is normal with non HD broadcasts (typically the channels 1-100).

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

Well i really want to know what level the coular and brightness lvel has to be on a toshiba t.v

You can set these controls to your liking, though a lower brightness setting might increase the life of the screen. First, set the brightness and contrast to a level that is pleasing to the eyes, then adjust the color to look realistic - enough color without being disturbing. If faces area look greenish or purplish, then also adjust the tint (sometimes called Hue) until you get accurate flesh tone. Flesh tone is the best thing to adjust for; when you get good flesh tone, the rest of the picture will look great. ALWAYS make adjustments during a live news broadcast, which tends to have the most accurate balance of brightness, contrast, color level and hue. Note that commercials are all recorded in different studios with different settings, and will usually not look right - it's best to just live with this than to constantly readjust the TV. There are also DVD's available which walk you through proper TV adjustment.
