Re: screen flashes black

Hi. The method above is only for LCD.

Your problem is on PSU board. It`s in the middle when you open the back cover of the set. The board fixed with 8 screws . 3 crews (one on the left and 2 on the bottom) have small metal plates soldered in to the board. You have to unscrew it and clean the plates under it. The plates connected to the ground and must be screwed very well. Bad joint of the plates to the panel ground causes black screen problem.

Re: screen flashes black

Hi this is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. After you turned it on and the screen blacked out, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

Did you change the HDMI cable? If so, you should check to ensure you have the cable installed so it is running the right direction. It may seem hard to believe but some HDMI cables only allow the signal to run in one direction.

Why is desktop green like theres way to much yellow hue

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

First thing I would try will beusing this monitor with another PC using the same the same setup to see if it works OK. We need to narrow down the cause of the problem first since you have three parts that can be bad; Monitor, DVI cable, PC Video card/PC. It is just a process of elimination to locate the problem.

My LG 23SL7D will not stay on, it temporarily will connect to PC then screen will go black.

If the screen keeps going black and you know thet your graphics card is ok (test monitor on another computer), then the issue is probably with the internal monitor power capacitors, which you will need to take to a TV repairman to have inspected

You have lost your original remote and got into this by pressing info select and the option 7 UART Download. Happened to my 95 year old aunt in assisted living. You will need the original remote and simply hit (EXIT) or another LG branded remote that has the (ROUND RETURN BUTTON) on the left. Once you accidently get in to this, I have not found a universal Zenith remote that can get you out even though Channel up/down and basic funtions work.Bud retired Bud's TV Service.

Hello there , i d like to express my problem here , with the hope to find a solution . I have an LG L1730s monitor for about four years . Recently i had a video card burn and i changed it with a new one ....

I've repaired a lot of these monitors and every one seemed to do something strange. In this case my first thought is that somehow he monitor firmware got zapped when the card was damaged. Although this could certainly fall into the category of an open ground in the cable. My suggestion at this point would be to take it to a reputable repair person and get their estimate or take a look at

Sounds like the PC has too high a screen resolution set for the TV to handle
Re-connect PC to PC monitor , change display resolution to 800 x 600 (right click desktop, properties, settings, slider marked "screen resolution" to leftmost side, save settings.
connect PC to TV, TV should be able to display PC data now.
Go through same procedure with PC connected to TV, move slider to 1024 x 768 posn. (depends on TV model as to what it can cope with) - *apply* this setting & see if TV is able to display at this resolution.
If it is, desktop will appear - if not, you'll get the warning box generated by the TV...don't worry, in 15 secs, the PC will revert to the old (working) setting.

Hope this helps.
