Re: no power

This might work. Unplug the power cord connected to the back of the PC. Press & hold the start button on the PC case for ten seconds. Reconnect the power cord & try starting the PC. Still no power. Connect the power cord from the PC directly to a wall jack. (No power strips). Still no power? Possible the power supply went bad.

No power. I went to the computer store and they used their own plug to override the battery. They also tried main battery replacement. Both items did not work to power up my computer. Before it went...

Step 1:

With unit off, and unplugged, remove battery from bay.

Step 2:

Plug unit into AC adapter and turn on.

Step 3:

If unit turns on and working well...need to replace battery with new one.

Step 4:

If unit turns on, but still giving you issues -- take in for repairs.

Caqn i put a 700Mhz Dell Pentium III in the same

No, you cannot exchange them. I was not able to determine what socket your notebook uses, but the 500 Mhz mobile Celeron was only available in two formats. One was Socket 495, which has no Pentium III processors available (only Celeron). The other is BGA2, which is not a socket at all, but is soldered onto the motherboard and is thus virtually unremovable.

you have a shortcut circuit in your laptop. most probably power diodes that is in entering conector of adapter in your laptop have gone or some of rezistances located there. you have to service laptop.

No boot at all

could be a variety of hardware issues ... if you have a modem card remove it first ... leave the battery out as it is not required to operate the laptop as long as you have ac power ... leave all the ram chips out as most laptops have some ram built in ... remove the harddrive and any other internal drives ... also disconnect anything external ... network printers etc... after that yopu are into removing the keyboard and disconnecting the video ...but it gets a bit complicated if you have never worked on laptops before...

Grage sale labtop.

Hi with the USB port they often wear and can be tightend by gently prizing up the flat contact strips inside the socket, this requires a fine needle and a steady hand. If this fails just install a PCIMA USB card. the fan could be faulty, if you can use a multimeter then test the contacts and see if you have power to it. Regards mistyman
