If your diagnosis is correct and you have a broken plasma screen unit then it's beyond economic repair as a new panel costs more to supply and fit than buying a complete replacement tv.
If the tv has simply gone into protection mode due to a failed cooling fan or if a transformer, relay or circuit board has failed then it's normally a straightforward and cost effective repair but definitely not a DIY job. Fans and relays are the cheapest repairs, typically labour for one hour plus the (usually) cheap parts, transformers and circuit boards are typically one to two hours labour but the parts can be very expensive but the total repair is typically far less than the cost of another 50" plasma tv.
