Question about Pentax Optio M20 Digital Camera

1 Answer

PC Connection My camera came with ACDSee for Pentax for viewing images etc. When I initially installed it worked great, as soon as the camera was linked to my laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro running XP), ACDSee device detector would launch automatically, click the steps and photos would download- easy. Last month when my camera was connected, the device detector didn't launch and I had to through my computer, select the removable disk and acquire images that way. Tonight I had the same trouble but when I go to my computer, a removable device doesn't appear. When I click on the safely remove hardware icon, it shows the camera there. Looking for any tips so that I can download images either through ACDsee or manually through my computer, can't geteither to work at the moment. Thanks

Optio E30 unable to download photos?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use ACDSee or any other photo cataloging program.

Connecting the Pentax S50 to computer

hi there

there doesnt seem any problem i what youve explained. its just that your saying that it doesnt show any images as fast like before.

i suggest that you use another software which is easier to use and actually is particular to pictures and videos. whenever you connect your cam to the computer, this software will identify the pics inside your cam.

you can download Picasa2 @ which is under the Imaging Tab.

hope this helps you.

Optio W10 usb cable does nothing

The first rule with any new didital camers is as far as I am concerned is -Leave The Disk in The Box Windos is quite capable of reading removeable meadi with out extra layers of programs. So Remove the software [Start/Comtrol Panel/Add Remove software, etc., Reboot the computer. Plug in the camera Make sure it is set to the upload function[see manual] Windows Camera/scanner wizard will come up select what you want to do[coy to folder] click OK. Do all this first If still in trouble check the cable with another, and if you can remove media card and try through yours PC or another via a card reader. You have to eliminate which is dud Camera[switchng] cable. When you have make the decision and concluded it is the camera/cable, pack it all up and take it back from the place it came from.

ACDSEE with F55 ??

Unfortunately you can't use ACDSee to access your images on the F55. Not unless Sony comes up with a twain driver which seems unlikely. I have to use Picture gear to access the images and transfer them to my PC which I then use ACDSee to view. I also got a floppy adapter.

Software Installation

Pentax camera creates an own folder at each inserted SD card. So, try to find your image and video files in the folder named 100PENTX. For example, my camera saves the shot images into folder: SD card:\DCIM\100PENTX.
