Sounds dumb, i've had similar issues when accidentally taking the memory card when the camera is powering up or down. have you tried to reset the camera with/without memory card?

Blank screen

Ok did the lens open completely? Does the lens cover open. I have had a Panasonic do this once. If it opens the sensor most likely is gone, or the display. Sometimes if you are careful you can remove the back an check the connections to the screen by removing it an putting back on an it can clear the problem. Sounds crazy bit has worked a few times on other cameras. My guess is camera is gone an cheaper to replace.

I started taking pics on my daughter's birthday function.. at the end of the function, my friend tried to take the camera from me but unforturnately it fell down. But we continued take pics and but after...

Try repeatly turning on and off the unit by removing the battery each time the lens error screen pops up...that worked for me this summer when mine S210 got jammed with a sand particle. The next level is to get access to the front cover. That requires more knowledgethan I'm currently aware of as I've only removed the back cover and the LCD retainer plate. Tomorrow I'm going after the front cover and I'll let you know if I'm successful. The entire camera seems to be accessible with a small phillips head screwdriver and a lot of patience. Taking apart an S210 requires great peace of mind...don't go in until you're in a good space...

My flash isn't working anymore!! (fz50)

Find the setting for "conversion lens" in the menu, or tools menu.
Turn it off.

Turning the "conversion lens" on blocks all flash function.

The conversion lens is a extra lens that you can purchase to screw onto the front of the main camera lens for extra zoom or wide shots but it blocks the flash, so your only meant to turn it on when you have one fitted.

Zoom error showing on display screen of my daughters fuji finepix f40fd digital camera. Unable to press button to take photos and when I try to turn camera off the zoom lens goes in and out twice before...

The lens Is trying to close properly but the focus mechanism has a problem, most likely jammed, so the lens cannot correctly close or work properly.
It will need to be opened up and reset.
Please email me. My email address is listed in my tips section on my profile.

Problem with my Olympus FE-230

When I turn my camera on, the lens goes in and out a few times. Once it's finally on and I look at the screen, everything is blurry. When I take the picture, it's blurry too. If I try to use the zoom to adjust, the lens starts going in and out all crazy and won't adjust right.

You don't have to disassemble the lens. My camera would lens extend , pause and then lens retract, pause again, then lens extend, pause and then lens retract. It would do this maybe 4 or 5 times before displaying "ACCESS" on the screen and then shut down completely.
Where the lens extends from the body is the area I am referring to, there is a tiny gap large enough to slide a sheet of paper into. That is the area I shot a tiny drop/burst of wd40 into. Wd40 is sort of electronic safe and most of it WILL evaporate. If you would like, send me your email address I will send a photo file-picture of how i did it. Hopefully it is the same problem.

Cannot turn on the power

It sounds like you have a lens problem or it may be as simple as a dirty lens. If the lens is not dirty and you want to repair it yourself there is a guy in South Carolina who has lots of parts for all the Sony Cameras. I bought my LCD from him for $39.00 plus shipping and it works perfect. I put it in myself and saved a ton. If you buy the part from him he sends you pictures of him taking the camera apart so that you can repeat the process when you install it. I think his email is gerald.ray@aa-ark.com

Getting access

Was your unit dropped, or maybe left with the lens protruding? Seems you have a problem with the lens assy(stucked), during start-up, it will initialize to check if all systems go, if not then it will display turn off and on again. thanks

Will turn on, then beeps 3times & turn off in 5 seconds w/ the shutter still out

I had this same problem and it was driving me crazy. I looked the camera over carefully and noticed that the lens was a little crooked. I gently pulled the protruding lens piece a little and it popped into place. After that, the camera worked fine. I guess if the lens is jammed the camera won't turn on if the lens can't move. I hope this helps you.
