Question about Sennheiser HD 555 Consumer Headphones

1 Answer

Sennheiser hd555 I require the connections for the 4 coloured wires to rewire a 3,5mm jack

I have wired the black and white to the sleeve(ground), and wired the red to the tip. Blue is on ring.
Does it make any difference? My headphones work just fine, but would it make any difference in volume perhaps?

How do you repair a sennheiser sk100 jack socket

I assume you mean the mic plug/jack. Bent pins or broken connectors will require a new jack and/or plug installed and they are not easy to do. These 3.5 mm jack connectors require both a light touch during install and soldering. If you're a pro then start shopping for a replacement 3.5 mm mono jack but be warned. The jack may solder directly to the PC board....which reminds me. Look for broken connections from jack to PC board..a common failure point and resolder as needed.

How do you wire ecm77 to jackplug

There are literally hundreds of styles and sizes of jacks and plugs. The ECM77 is a condenser microphone and REQUIRES phantom power to bias it. Not all body packs have this bias available...MOST current mixers do have phantom power, at least on XLR inputs. Since you did not tell us what this connects to, we can't give you a definitive answer. For an XLR, the shield of the cable will tie to pin #1... be careful as the pin numbers are tricky... Typically for a TRS 1/4 or 1/8 jack, the shield of the cable ties to the sleeve part of the plug and the other two wires to the tip and ring contacts.

Hello,
Your TV should have an AUDIO OUTPUT other than optic..at least " Headphones" output..
You can connect TV audio output with a RCA cable.
white and red audio jack....
since SUB has both RCA and "3,5mm Headphone female Jack"..here are the options;
** you need to buy a cable one end 3,5mm MALE headphone jack and the other end 2xRCA stereo (or 1x RCA for mono or you may need "Y cable " ) to be connected to your TV...
** or 2x RCA
white and red audio jack and connect from your TV..
**" "Headphones" output to SUB with 3,5 male-to-male cable ( the least recommended)
And you need to connect front, centre and rear speakers to your SUB as well...
Take care and if it succeeds please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up

Hope this helps!

Is the creative hs-400 compatible with regular mp3 players?

It should be compatible with any MP3 players.
The headset has a universal headphone jack that is compatible with most (if not all) devices.

My Sennheiser HD 205 suddenly had a problem with its jack. You have to move its top, nearest to the cord, to get a sound on the other ear, probably it was pulled and something went loose. I spliced it open...

The two copper wires on your headphones are independent grounds for each channel. Twist them together and attach them to the ground cable ( black) of the new plug. The colored wires of the headphone correspond to the live wires of each channel, and the plug should have the same colors. Wiring together the grounds will not affect in any way the stereo separation, it is just that each ear needs its own ground. Cheaper headsets just transfer the ground from one ear to the other one through the metal headband.

See my tip on headphones jack/cable problems. Also sometimes they put on a special coating on the wires. You have to scrape the wire or file it to remove it. Spit is also good at making the solder stick!

What jack is compatible to laptop using shure

You have to connect the unbalanced output (the 6.3mm jack) to the laptop's line in (or mic with setting the rec level at very low settings) 3.5mm jack. In details the wiring should be as follows:
6,3mm jack shield to 3,5mm jack shield
6,3mm jack ring to 3,5mm jack shield
6,3mm jack tip to 3,5mm jack tip and ring

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

My headphone jack has snapped off, can it be repaired?

Yes simply cutt the old one off and buy a new plug. Most hadphones are fitted with a 3.5mm jack. You will need to solder the wires on. You will find when you have baired back the cable two coloured wires and two earths. The earths fit together on the metal flange that comes out of the main body of the plug. The coloured wires go on the the two smaller flanges (left and right channels). If you get them wrong way round reverse them you won't do any damage. Make certain the earths don't come into contact with the R & L channels wires or terminals and the left or right don't touch each other. The T shaped end on the large flange is to grip the cable body, bend the tabs to grip the cable.

Cahnging plug

The standard HD25SP cable's 1/4" jack screws over the mini-jack. There's no reason for you to do any soldering. If you have a few inches of cord left from where you cut the plug off you may want to re-splice the cable back together to their corresponding colours. Then unscrew the 1/4" ******** to reveal the mini-jack.
