Updated my insignia d400a product number

The D400-A PCs's were unfortunately made before the PCIe specs became standard. Almost none of the newer video cards will work, but I was lucky enough to find an nVidia GeForce 9400GT 1GB card that fits standard PCI. Be careful shopping for one online, make sure the product details state that it is the PCI version of the card, not the PCIe version.

To use Wifi on a D400 series PC, you would need to purchase a wifi PCI card (Do not get any PCIe or PCI2 or newer card specs) or wifi USB adapter.

Since standard PCI is consider mostly obsolete, they can be found fairly cheak, usually under $10 usd on places like Amazon.

Insignia is a Best Buy proprietary brand. In order to get you to spend money at the geek squad, they keep this information pretty secret. Hit "F1" during POST. That should do it. It works on most Insignia models. If not, you should call best buy and ask them about your specific model.

It cannot take in ddr3

when booting up and when insignia screen appears press f1 and that should get you there,
but be warned insignia may void your guarantee if you play around with the settings or add any mods.

Go into the BIOS (press F2 during boot) , change the boot order - put the cd first and save the change, put the restore disk in the dvd, reboot, wait for the disk to launch and follow the instructions on the screen.

Check intel's website, you have an intel D845GVSR motherboard. Here is a better web page!

You'll have to search around but all your drivers are in intel's website. Except for one, and thats your media reader, you'll have to use to one supplied on your recovery disk that came with the D400A.
