Ariston L63 not running through cycles...

Dear Sir/Madam,

I turn off unit at main switch, turn on again. Function switch still on R. Left red light (S) comes on and blinks. Twist function switch clockwise to 2nd wash setting. Yellow rinse light comes on (2nd from left). Can hear water running via adjacent sink plug hole. Open up washer door, elements are red hot, but no water running through machine.

Have pulled plates out from bottom of washer interior to check for blockages, but nothing obvious.

Other times I turn on and machine, it just blinks away with the 2 left yellow cycle/function lights flicking off and on indefinitely...

Please help, I can’t afford a repairman!!!
