The logic board is most likely dead. Google "iPod repairs" in your country and they might be able to replace it. Otherwise you can get an exchange unit from Apple. Take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days. Unfortunately this might cost almost as much as a new one.

I use an imac desktop computer with my ipod nano 2gb. All was fine until I updated my osx and my itunes to new updated software; the free downloads that they always offer via pop ups. Now my computer or my itunes does not recognize my ipod as a device, and I cannot sync it anymore. There is an "ipod" icon on my desktop, but nothing in my itunes menus.

My Ipod has the white screen. I can hear it clicking, and if I manage to push the right combinations of buttons I can even get it to play. I have tried to reset it - no good. Last weekend I backed up my music and restored the entire disk. Still not working. Any other suggestions? If not, is their a cheat sheet on the menus for the ipod. If I can figure out how many times I have to click on certain things, I may be able to use this without the screen....for now I am stuck with the same song playing over and over again. My co-workers would like to kill me.
