Ticking noise Every now and again when i put the fascia on, when the music is playing there is a fast, sort of ticking noise coming out the left front speaker. I have to switch off the radio and re-apply the fascia a couple of times before it goes away. Why is this?

I have a similar problem, but this is with the Sirius car kit. I have run the audio cable directly from the interface to the aux input to the speakers. When the car is not turned on, there is no ticking, but, when it is running the ticking happens and it increases/decreases in frequency and volume when I increase the RPMs of the car - I step on the gas the ticking gets faster, take it off and the ticking slowes down (but is stll there).

It seems that you may have an intermittant ground from the radio/cd player to the metalwork of the car,

I have a ticking noise since i baought it in 09 is there a racall or is it normal

Well, um, sort of depends on two things:

1. What "it" is. Make/model/engine

2. Better description of your "ticking noise". Is it constant? How fast? Does it speed up with driving speed?

Ticking noise underneath the car approximately midway.

The sound you hear is the metal parts of your exhaust system and catalytic converter cooling down. Some cars are louder than others but the sound is perfectly normal.

Samsung 2253bw lcd monitor makes loud, fast ticking noise > 10hz. Noise occurs even when monitor is powered off with switch.

Turned out ticking noise was harmonic vibration triggered by a nearby airconditioning compressor. Once I guessed the cause, putting a rubber pad under the monitor to dampen the vibrations eliminated the ticking. Removing the pad caused the ticking to reoccur. Ditto with turning the A/C off or on. Weird!

Distinct clicking, right? Your hard drive is about to crash completely. Other than the ticking, your problems are probably because the hard drive is not giving out the information it needs to because it can't. You need either a new Hard drive or a new player. once you get it all of you problems should go away.

Ticking noise

The ticking noise is the arm inside the hard drive swinging back and forth in an effort to find the first sector of the drive. Best guess is a stuck spindle on which the platters ride. Another common name for this condition is called "stiction." If you feel comfortable, you can take the hard drive out and remove the cover off of it. Then, gently take your index finger and touch the edge of the platter and attempt to turn it. DO NOT touch the surface of the platter or play with the servo arm. You must do this in a dust free environment and as quickly as possible. Otherwise, you can take it to someone who is familiar with hard drive repair. Once it is working, you will need to a backup of the drive. Also, you will need to replace the drive because it will stick again. Good luck.
