You may have accidently turned off the internal speakers, the options need to be changed, or the sound volume off. Go to the lower right were the ICON of the speaker is located. Right click and select Volume Mixer. Look to see if under Speakers, the internal option is available. Make certain the slide (volume) is up all the way and go from there. Check all options there and if no sound after all of that, you may need to update the sound drivers from the manufacturer.
did u try an external speaker....
if that works then there is an issue with the inbuilt speakers....
the sound driver has gone corrupt....re-install sound card driver....
use an external USB sound card adaptor(buy for 1$ in Ebay) and connect external speakers to the USB adaptor.......
reinstall your sound card. The speakers are there the sound card is probably with issue, not installed or another conflict. Check the device manager. right click my computer hit manage then go to device manager in the window that opens. look for the sound card to see if it is there or with conflict. try reinstallign the drivers from you cd or go to www.dell.com to get them
When upgrading your operating system like windows 7, some hardware driver will be outdated and cause not to ffunction properly. Solution is to download sound driver compatible with windows 7. Otherwise, it will not work properly as you mention. Try to find thru websearch by typing your laptop model number and its free.
Check your registery values, values might have been changed due to virus infection. Also check condditions of your all sound cards i.e..i/o sound cards and inbuilt motherboard sound cards. Finally scan your system for virus.
It sounds as if you have got your inbuilt microphone active and it is amplifying the sound coming from your speakers, try muting the microphone off through your sound or speaker icon normally on your task bar on right hand side, this happened to me when i first installed a web cam and set up the microphone volume.
Hope this helps, other than re installing sound card drivers.
