You're paying monthly fees to COMCAST, correct?

I have a RCA Thomson DHG 535-2 without the disk for the installation and the ethernet wont help everything is hooked up etherent/cable to tv power yes... and that's about ti all im really missing is the...

Thomson Cable modem has an ethernet connection...
The ethernet connection goes to your computer via a standard Cat5e patch cable. There is no USB that I know of...
Cablevision wire goes to the modem. It should be the first device on the cablevision wire. If you need a splitter, it needs to be a GOOD one, connected DIRECTLY to the incoming Cablevision wire as it enters the house. Use good copper wire.

Order of events:
Connect the cablevision wire to the Modem.
Connect the Ethernet cable to the computer and the modem.
Power on the cable modem.
Right click the network Icon near the clock and click 'repair' (Or reboot the computer)
Apply for and get an account for cable Internet from your Cable company.
After a few days, cable Internet should work.

How can you duble the use of a modem&is it posible?

Definitely if you are planning on hard wiring all 10 computers you need to purchase a hub..Basically you would use one of the 4 ports on your modem. Run ethernet from router to hub input and add up to 16 computers. Over 16 you need a switch. If you are going to have some wire and the others wireless, you just need to security access code from the router,that you should have from the first wireless set up.You should have a setup disk for router if you didn't complete initial setup. Or contact manufacturer to get a replacement disk. As long as all 10 computers have wireless capabilities you just have to enter the access on each individual computer to access your wireless network.

Disk boot failure

there are multiple reasons for this

1. hard drive failure
solution: replace hard drive reinstall operateing system

2. computer is not set to start from hard drive
solution: enter bios and set computer to start up from hard drive

3. Hard drive not detected or cable loose.
solution: check are the hard drive cables connected well. try disconnecting and then reconnecting.

4. Hard drive file system corrupted and unable to find start up files
solution: you can use the windows xp to enter repair console and try to correct the corruption with chkdsk command if that doesnt work you have to reinstall operateing system

Hi compkid,

Probable reasons are:
1. wrong password;
2. virus infection;
3. missing or corrupt Windows start-up files;
4. possible (though unlikely) hardware problem(s).

Possible workaround:
a. try running Safe Mode;
b. Reset/Delete your Password(s) (I'm sorry but I can not go any further as to how to do this. Best is Google for it);
c. for virus scanning/hard disk scan/check-up/repair, you need to remove the HD from the PC where it is original installed and with the use of an external USB enclosure, connect it to a 2nd PC and perform the diagnostics from there.
d. Re-seat/clean tips of your video and/or memory.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

802.11g Network Adapter Radio Control Switch

It's not a physical switch, and they really should put more thought into the error messages they write. To "flip" the "switch" you hold down your function key and hit F2 (you'll notice a little symbol on the F2 button - that's the "radio switch"). After that, just right click on your wireless connection and choose repair.
