- More info: I've built around 10 PCs before, so I have a decent knowledge. That doesn't mean that I didn't screw something up.
Specs - EVGA 730a; AMD PhenomII Quad; Kingwin 600W PSU w/Dual Rail 12V(21amp per rail); Corsair XMS2 (4GB)
I don't have my BluRay or HDD connected yet.
I've reseated the 24 pin, 8 pin, and RAM several times.
I'm using on-board VGA
I have three blue LEDs lit on the mobo, the temp display on the mobo shows an F, and all of my fans are spinning and lit, fan controls built into the case are operating perfectly.
I've replaced the CR2032 battery, reset the CMOS, and still nothing.
I don't know what the 3 LEDs on the mobo are telling me, or if there are supposed to be more or less lit up. The manual doesn't mention them and I can't find any info on the EVGA forum other than dozens of people who have had this exact problem. Unfortunately, there hasn't been a solution posted.
I can't find any info on how many amps this mobo/cpu require on the 12V side but I assumed when I bought the PSU that 21amps would be plenty.
LOL common. Power off, make sure power to the videocard, 4-wire connector, et al are plugged in, the videocard well seated, CPU fan plugged in, and try that again. Some motherboards are also fussy about having enough of the mounting points and backplane grounded.
There is alot of possibilties here... make sure your monitor works fine, make sure ram is in properly (clicked in and in firmly), make sure ram is correct, Make sure all power connectors are connected (most boards have 2 -3 sets needed to be plugged in, Video card may need an extra power source which is a 6 prong supply), Make sure you have an efficient enough power supply 450W minimum, Bios could be shot, Slave or master conflict with cd drives and/or hard drives make sure you have the jumpers correct on them, and make sure the connection via computer to monitor is on tightly
Did you add another video graphics card besides the one integrated? If so, the you will need to put the drivers on before installing the vga card. make sure to disable the onboard VGA thru the bios or thru control panel, device manager.
You may also want to check and make sure the power supply can support the video graphics card (if you added one). Usually a 450 watt is prefered when you have a PCI VGA.
1.) Does your computer spin up?
2.) Check your monitor on another computer to make sure it is working properly.
3.) Take the case off and "re-seat your video card" (if slotted card)
4.) Try another slot
5.) Try another video card
