How do you replace the bag on a Hoover Elite 200?

There are different models of Hoover Legacy Upright vacuum, but in general, you unlatch the front cover, and pull the old bag off. The cardboard flange of the new bag goes over the tube near the top of the bag compartment

What is the model number of your vacuum?

Your best bet is checking the owner's manual.

The bag chamber is not sealing properly. Turn on the unit again, block up the hose with one hand and feel around the bag door to determine where the suction loss is coming from. It could be near the bottom of the door where one of the tabs have not been inserted properly. Good luck!

The hoover belt number you listed (38528027) has been changed by Hoover to 38528040. Below I have listed a link to the manual that has instructions and a link to the belt you need. Hope this helps!

in the front on the bottom you will see 2 slots put a small screwdriver in and push up on the clips in the slots and the bottom cover will come off .be careful not to break the clips.just push up on the clip and pull out on the cover at the same time.before you replace the belt clean the old rubber off the motor shaft first ,if you don't the new belt won't last very long

Old (60's /70's??) commercial type Hoover guardsman upright: connection between bag or bag cover and the main 'vacuum' became disconnected. Can't seem to reattach.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Most of the older Hoover Comm’l type vacuums have a shake our bag with a slide on clamp – so you would keep the clamp & then either the bag usually is wired on @ the bottom of the fill area & would need to re-attach if the outer bag is still in good shape. If not then I suggest that you replace the bag and clamp if needed. include the brand name & model # with your request to either company. Questions?
