Here is a link for the manual to your TV.

It looks like page 14 says that you must Set the V2 Component In on the initial set up menu to YES for proper display.

Let me know if this is where the problem is! If not, we can continue!

Has audio, back light is one there are red, green , blue, white lines horizontal but no video

First, check all connections on the unit to see if anything is loose, or not it the right slot.
Second, try another input on the unit, like HDMI or compnent/RCA and see if that works. Sometimes a single input can go bad.
Third, make sure the device you're trying to play through the TV is working properly, best way to do this would be to try playing something else through the TV.
If that fails, I'm honestly unsure, all Insignia TV's carry a two year manufactures warranty, which Best Buy will gladly service for you.

I have no picture.

Just a thought from out of date tv user. Make sure there is power at outlet. If you have cable or antenna connected, make sure it is set to the right mode. One mode is all the tv channels, another is simply a second imput like vcr, and may have a third mode for games etc. On mine, each mode is specific to a set of terminals (yell/red/wht) on the tv back side (3 sets of terminals back there with each used with one mode), if in the wrong mode won't connect with input signal. Switch tv on then find the mode switch and try each one to see if you can get a picture or even snow. May also have some auto feature that if signal isn't detected, it won't startup the big screen (so you don't get blast of loud sound and snowy picture), try a spare tv on the input signal to see if the input signal is there and working. Hope that helps.

Inputs do not work after power outage

The set has three ways to reset---the tiny button on the front, A second is called a soft reset, and the third requires going into the tech Menu with a code via the remote.

Try the soft reset first and let me know if it helps.

With the set on hit: Menu, 1, 2, 3, and enter.

Conection to tv problem

gerardali,The question is what input connection do you have on your TV?

Your Venturer has three types of video outputs:
1) Composite video (single yellow RCA)
2) S-video (single 5 pin cable)
3) Component (3 cables-red, green & blue RCA's).

The component will give the best picture but not all TV's have this connection. The second best is the s-Video but again not all TV's have this connection either. The composite is the lowest quality and the most common available connection.

Make sure that you are using the same audio and video inputs on your TV; such as, if your audio is going in AUX 2, make sure your video connection of choice is going into AUX 2 also.

Denon AVR-488 , problems routing cable box through receiver to tv

If you don't have one, the manual is available online:

1. Reset to default values. Per page 36 of manual: 1. Turn off Power. 2. Press Power while simultaneously pressing Speaker A and Speaker B. 3. Once the display starts flashing at intervals of about 1 second, release the two buttons.

2. Make sure you have AM or FM radio reception. This makes sure your speakers, amps, etc are connected and working correctly.

3. Connect DVD player to HDMI 1 in and TV to HDMI Monitor Out.
Play a known good DVD that works when you connected the DVD directly to the TV via HDMI.

Select the DVD/HDP input on the receiver and play the DVD. You should not have to perform any input assignments, etc. It should just work, as HDMI1 is the default system setting for DVD.

4. If possible, obtain a STB with HDMI out & repeat step 3 using the HDMI2 TV/CBL input. Keeping the signal path all digital (HDMI) will give you a better picture quality than forcing several analog to digital conversions (component video is analog).

4A. To use the component connection, first test by connecting the STB directly to the TV via component video/audio if possible. This tests that the component video output of the STB is working correctly.

Next, remove direct connection and connect via receiver. Connect STB to receiver as shown on page 13 in manual. Connect component video output from STB to component video input #2 (tv/cbl) on receiver. Connect the STB audio output to the corresponding tv/cbl audio inputs.

Make sure nothing is connected to the HDMI2 input or to any other TV/CBL inputs (composite video, s-video, digital coax audio).

Now select the TV/CBL input and turn on the STB. You should have both audio & video.

How to Hook up HDMI from Comcast Motarola Cable Box

Connect the HDMI outputs on your various components to the HDMI inputs on your receiver. Connect the HDMI output on the receiver to the input on your TV. HDMI incorporates digital audio, so no need to buy optical audio cables. If your receiver does not have HDMI inputs for all your components, you will need to make a choice. HDMI = Best, component video + optical audio = second best, S-video+ optical audio = third best

I dont know how to hook up a dvd player

Depending on the model of DVD player and the TV you are trying to connect it to you have various inputs and outputs.

If your have an HD (High Definition) DVD Player and a HD TV the best input to use is HDMI. Both device would have an HDMI interface whereby you could connect them together.

If you have a standard DVD Player you have usually 3 other input/output options, RCA, S-Video, and Component. Your RCA jacks are colored Red, Yellow, and White. Your S-Video is a larger circular jack with several pins. The Component cable has Red, Green, and Blue.

Of the three above the Component Cable connection is going to give you best picture quality. S-Video is second and RCA is third. You just need to match up the connectors on your TV and DVD and get the cable that accommodates the best picture quality. Again for clarification below are the interface options for best quality to poorest:

2. Component
3. S-Video
4. RCA

Hope this helps.

RCA f20580wn 20" TV about 20 years old

Hopefully you have the problem solved.

If not, the RCA plugs, listed as input 1 and 2 are shown on channel 91 and 92.

I recommend connecting the DVD to either input. Turn on the DVD. Then run the auto programming function of the TV. It will find and program the channel for the DVD. Then use the channel up or down on the remote you are currently using and you should find a working DVD.

Hope this helps.

Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.
