What's the proper way to connect my linksys WRT110 properly

What you are trying to do is a rather big job. Hire a company to connect the equipment properly. The headaches you save will be your own. If you install it, you will have to fix it everytime it goes out if you contract someone to install it and you buy a support contract when they install it, THEY get to come fix it and the headache is theirs, not yours. And NEVER install that type of router in an attic, they will overheat and fail very quickly.

wrt110n of linksys is good, aslong as its still updated and properly configured.

Linksys Router WRT110 supports Wireless G plus MIMO and it will have a maximum transfer rate of 108Mbps (double the size of regular Wireless G routers)

Turn the router off.
Count to thirteen.
Turn the router on.
In Windows, click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG /RENEW
Press Enter
Try again to access the Internet.

the reason for the lights turining on is that the WPS on your router is actually activated right now. so you got to set it back to where it can give out a wi-fi connection. Just try to hold the red reset button on the back of the router for about 1 minute to be sure that it will really reset itself.

Once that is done, just reconfigure the router so that it will be properly in sync with the modem and personalize the wireless settings. Make sure that you don't press the WPS button, thats the button in the middle of the router.

make sure u are not using a WPA security in the router, if u are, change it to WEP 64bit. try to scan and connect.
