Problem for Drive Cases

Generic problem for all Drive Cases

I have an external Acomdata IDE 3.5

I have an external Acomdata IDE 3.5'' USB 2.0 enclosure that I use with windows based PC's and one day it stopped working. All that happens when powered up is a soft clicking noise. I took out the Maxtor Diamond Drive and put in a Maxtor Fireball, and same problem. I changed the IDE cable, same problem. I have also swapped different USB cables out and tested on several systems, all with same problem. Some assistance is needed.

- The computers in question only have SATA connections, and the HDD is an older Maxtor IDE in the enclosure.

I hope you have a good back up. Im sorry, im not making fun of your situation. Is your computer able to drive the hard disks you have connected to it?
