Purchased our Maytag Wide by Side in March 2001

Purchased our Maytag Wide by Side in March 2001 because of the reputation of Maytag and the design of the refrigerator for $1599. We received a notice of recall in March 2009 for a "serious fire risk". A technician came to fix the problem. He fixed it (I guess) but did not look at any other problems one which was closely related. He could have easily seen that we had a problem with the condenser fan, but that is not what Maytag hired him to do. At the same time we had a problem with the dispenser of the ice from the ice maker shoot. Called an authorized Maytag repairman to look at the ice maker problem and as he discovered after looking at our refrigerator we had a problem with the condenser. We also had to pay for a new major part to the ice maker. This whole problem cost us $432.00. Now we have experienced a problem with the ice maker in that it isn't working appropriately and is flinging plastic all over our freezer because the drive shaft (or whatever) is not working right and peeling plastic off of the wall within which it is working. (Not sure that is too clear.) But the bottom line is that even though we have selected cubes from our door dispenser, we sometimes get a mush of crushed ice and cubes. A real mess! The repair for this is estimated at $420. I think our Maytag repairman is not lonely. I made him coffe today and coffee to go. He has become a friend of the family. Is there anything we can do to contact Maytag with our complaints that would give us any resolution? Sure wish we had purchased the extended warranties but Maytag is supposed to be so dependable.
