Smitha u have option of factory reset. You can reset your phone by using it's menu. Remember your whole data will be erased. If u can't do this, go to nearby technician, he can do this on motorola special tool like Ultima Box, Smart Clip Box or any other box he got. If it helpful do vote here.

Bro i suppose u might hav cleared msgs from ur sim memory and not phone memory. Anyways if the problem still persists , then try getting ur cellphones software updated from Moto Service center, Its done for free if ur still un warranty.
Go to Menu--message--inbox--open up the message which u want to delete n then press the option button---u will see Erase/Delete as an option then click OK.Again press OK if asks for confirmation.That's how u empty your inbox.
If u want to delete all the inbox messages then for that also you have an option in the inbox.
Just don't forget to press the "Option" button if u have to see the function.
You can try contacting Yahoo! Mail support. The only way someone can try to delete your inbox is if you give them your password....I shouldn't have to tell you what a bad idea that is. Go through Yahoo!'s support system, and have them do it for ya.
All you need to do is try to off your phone remove the battery,simcard, and mmc, then put it again, and power it on, if still not work, refer to your phone manual if how to reset your phone to its factory setting.good luck
