I cleaned and put a carb kit in a Walbro from a blower and it floods piston and crank area. Won't start. Checked exhaust blockage air filter. Tried adjusting metering lever and mixture screws with no luck. In desparation I unpluged the inlet fuel line from the carb and drained the gas from the motor and it started and ran until it had no gas. What should I be looking for? Air leaks, blockages, other?
The problem centers around the carburetor. The question lies in the condition and operation of the carb initially.
It appears you may need to double check your assembly of diaphragms and gaskets. check for loose welch plugs, adjustment needles in the wrong holes, inlet needle set too high.
*note: metering side diaphragm goes on top of the gasket, fuel pump diahragm has the gasket on top of it.

The only thing not already addressed is did you torque the needle valves closed? Needle valves are quite soft and the face is easily marred. Once marred correct adjustment becomes near impossible.

I'd guess a gasket or diaphram is rotated by 90 - 180°. Lou
