I installed all new ink cartridges, but the error I get when I try to print is, "unrecognized cartridge" for just the Cyan. Went to Target to replace just the blue one, and they only sell all 4 colors in a pack. Why is this happening, and where can I buy just the blue pack of ink? I tried pulling it out and cleaning the chip on it, and that didn't work. All the cartridges are from the same pack...

I notice that you saw error message 'check ink c'. This means the printer want you to observe cyan ink cartridge. so,what happen before this message appears?. Please make sure that cyan ink is not empty. if you are sure the ink not empty, then remove cyan ink and reinstall it,else try dry clean ink cartridge contact or you may use contact cleaner before reinstall it. if you have have another cyan ink cartridge that is in good condition, compare it. if this works, means cyan ink cartridge is faulty then you need to replace with the new one. but if the problem still persist,it may caused by carriage unit or logic board problem.
My printer quit printing blue after I cleaned the print heads. What can I do? I tried recharging the cyan cartridge and cleaning the print heads again. it's still not working! GRR!!
I want to print in black only and have changed the properties to grayscale, but it still won't let me print in black only. The magenta is out and it says I must replace, but i don't want color! help!

Dear all, To fix this problem, first check which ink blinks, then replace it with new one. If this does not fix your problem, here are possibilities: carriage part error, logic board error. Be careful of short circuitry problem in this case. It may harm other electrical part
I have the same issue as well - I just open the printer, pop out the cyan cartridge, and reinsert it (the same one). This generally works - sometimes I need to do it once or twice. I figure I'll be patient and keep doing this until I a) finish the cyan ink cartridge, b) replace it out of annoyance, or c) through the printer out the window in total frustration.
Interesting to hear about "faulty" cartridges though - I shell out for the "authentic" Canon cartridges which you would think would be reliable - maybe I should switch to using the imitation ones if I'm going to have issues with them anyway...?
I too was getting the error for unrecognized ink cartridge. Then the
little green circ board fell out of the end of the ink cartridge and it
hit me that maybe if I put in the little green circ board from the old
ink cartridge of the same color, then maybe the ink cartridge would be
recognized. It worked! So don't throw out an ink cartridge that still
has ink just because of that error and hold onto your empty cartridges
in case you need the little green/gold circ boards.
