Re: ipod

· go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

· Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix

Okay well my ipod touch isnt making sound with and without headphones and its not lighting up. Also when i plug it into my computer it doesnt show up on itunes and it doesnt say its charging

I would suggest that the problem is probably not the ipod but either the usb cable or the usb port. So plug the usb cable into a different usb port then into the ipod see if that works. If it doesn't get a different usb cable and try that. Hope this gets you up and running, if not post the problem again and I'll get back to you.

  • Plug your ipod into the usb port (preferrably in a usb 2.0 port)
  • Try with other ports too, if problem persist.
  • Open up iTunes, it should be recognizing it

My ipod doesnt work

First the obvious (but needs to be asked) - is the iPod charged? I'd try charging it with a wallcharger first (or at least an USB port on the laptop (no USB hubs). If that doesn't work visit the link below to Apple's support documents that have additional things to try when you get the Battery (!) icon. Hope this helps!

Apple mini i-pod

Try another usb port, but not in a non ac powered usb extension hub, as I Pod's need to be used in powered usb. Older pc's tend to have trouble powering the usb ports enough for the I Pod to be recognised. It may also be a voltage problem, disconnect any other usb peripherals connected and try again.
