i keep getting an error 421 when i try to fax something and i am not able to recieve faxes... i have an hp psc 2410 aii in one printer

Have you DSL switch in place. you must plug printer into that then the switch into phone socket.

Uninstall then reinstall, being patient and following instructions when asked for information.
