When you go to the router, what shows on your computer? Does it give you the login screen, or something else?

- Yes, this happens when your Network is set up as "Public" rather than "Private". I know the names seem backwards, but to go to internet, you must set up your network as "Private". Go into your Network settings and make this small change and you should be good to go.

- You can make the change by going into Network Discovery and make sure it is set to "on" to have Internet access.

- Has this router ever worked?

- Some more info on networks that might be helpful:on gthe topic of home networks:
HUB vs SWITCH vs
A hub is a totally dumb device. If it gets a data signal, it just forwards it to everybody and hopes someone will pick it up.
A switch is just barely smarter. If it gets a data packet, it will try and find the device it goes to, and then send it to that device only, but the device MUST reside on the same subnet. A switch wont send data packets to computers on different subnets
A router is just barely smarter than a switch. It only gets a data packet if the destination computer isn't on the same subnet or LAN. The router then figures out where in the world that computer is located and then sends it in the right direction.

- I` sure have no more ideas, sorry I couldn't have been more help. Humble apologies.

- If it pings, sends and receives packets, that says it WAS found, and the "Device Not Found" seems to be a contradiction.

I have a 2006 BMW X3. US spec. I want to activate the daytime running lamps. Is there a way to do this without taking it to the dealer?
