I cant close the lid of my

HP Photosmart 3310 Printer
The lid to my hp 3310 is stuck open. This would be the lid that you open to change the ink. All the ink is intact. I can't find a latch on the back that might be keeping this open. If I try to force it closed the plastic hinges will probably break. The lid also seems to be at its most extended position because it can't be lifted higher which some suggest might release the lock. How can I close this? Thanks
