Question about Jenn-Air JJW8230D Electric Double Oven

Jenn Air W131 F1 error code

I have an in-wall oven that gives me an F1 error code, which I can reset, but it comes back.

Also we've noticed the oven is not baking correctly, usually takes alot longer to bake, and then sometimes it's still not done.

Any ideas?

Jerry

I have the same problem with my W131 oven. I get the beeping and the F1 error code. Do I replace the board or the wiring harness...Is that something I can do as I'm fairly 'handy'?

I keep getting the F-1 code as well ---- what's the solution?

    Thanks

Similar problem with W131 single oven. Error code stopped, but baking and roasting took forever. Bought thermometer and checked oven temperature -- way low. Re[pairman replaced sensor; not the problem. Problem is control board, very expensive. End result: getting a new oven -- not a JennAir.

This means that the Power to element relay energized during time of day display. You have a problem with the wiring harness and it is shorted or you need to change the power relay board (PRB). If it is a double oven, you need to change second oven board.

There's some electrical tests you can take but the F1 tells you that this is the problem. To make electrical tests you would need an ohm meter to test for dc voltage at the board itself. You can do a general ohm check to check the power wiring harness but you would need the wiring diagram to tell what the voltages should be.

On a jenn air W131 does the lower element work with 240v

If the plug that goes into the wall looks like the one for an electric dryer then its 240. If it looks like an ordinary wall socket then it's 120.

What does F1 mean on my oven

F1 code for Jenn Air is related to the main electronic control board. If you can turn your breaker off for a few minutes then back on it may reset. If not you will most likely need a new control board. Depending on your model number and age there may be extended warranty on the parts, check with Jenn Air to be sure

F1 error code and constant beeping and oven shuts off.

Hi gwhiz03,

If you are having error code F1 with your Jenn-Air double wall oven this is because you have a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My jenn-air self-cleaning electronic wall oven model w131 is heating up very slowly. It took 1.5 hours to get to 175 degrees.

One of the 2 hot wires is out. Flip (hard) the oven circuit breaker to the off position, and then back on. If it did not help - verify 220-240v between the two hot wires on the terminal block behind the electronic control. If there is less - call electrician.

How do you get a Jenn air oven out of the wall???

The JennAir website should have the installation manual for download. Go there, type on your model number, and it should come up.

Sometimes these ovens just get "stuck" in place, and take some easy levering to break free, or to help you find other fasteners.

Error code F1

I had the same problem and found this post:
http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/03/11/maytag-amana-jenn-air-and-magic-chef-range-f1-codes/

The oven had been cleaned earlier in the day and the touch pad ribbon connector was shorting. I cleaned it with rubbing alchohol and blow dried the whole board for good measure. Hooked everything back up and haven't had a problem since.

My older jenn air double wall oven

shooter, F1 is usually the touchpad failure. You can try disconnecting the touchpad ribbon from the control and cleaning the ends with an eraser. See if the F1 stops. Catriver.
