I am merging in MS Word from a .dat file. I set it up as a directory so that the rows of data would merge contiguously instead of each breaking to a new page. I need to format the columns in Title Case, lowercase or Sentence case. The only way I can get it to keep this formating is to have Repeat Header Rows turned on. But then I can't sort the merge file. If I turn Repeat Header Rows off, everything merges in uppercase. I tried putting a header row in, but when I did that, each row of data had a header row attached. How can I get contiguous rows of data with the header only at the top of each page and the fields with the title, sentence or lowercase format I want, with the format retained when the data refreshes? Thank you for your help.

When I merge my Excel template with the data, the first row ends up being in all CAPS. If I put in a page break, the first row on the new page changes to all CAPS. The rest of the rows merge with the case of the original data. Is there some formula or formatting that can fix the cap problem? Thank you very much for your help. Chris Mildner

The suggested article did explain how to recreate the normal.dotm file, but in reading the article I realized it did not pertain to my problem (I was not having problems printing). However, it did lead me to further search the knowledgebase, and in doing so I DID find the solution. It's Article ID: 940791. This article explains how to delete registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice .0WordData. The problem was caused by installing an automatic update for Word 2007 -- while Word is open -- when the update causes the computer to restart. Thanks again for your help!
