Question about Hitachi 42V710 42" Rear Projection HDTV
Hello, i had the rainbow convergence problem for my tv the other day. i read over the chris palmer blogs on how to fix. i have ordered the two parts today from electronixs.com. i did upgrade to the stk392-180 instead of the 110's i took out. i had read that it will still work. i hope there is enough patience in fixing it when the parts get here. my question is, when i get the replacement parts and smear the heat sink grease on , make sure all the pins go into the hole and then screw on parts, is it difficult to solder those pins or any tips while doing it? everything else was easy for me, i took the whole section of grid out so i can work on it easier . any tips on appling the solder will be helpful. i have the brade, the small solder, iron and desolder tool if needed. i cleared the holes out with a piece of broken pin from the old part. i think i am ready to go.my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Sounds like your ready to do the proper job. Just apply a small amount of solder and should you apply too much and it shorts to another pin, simply remove the solder with your desoldering tool and try again. Welcome to the techictian soldering world. Good Luck
