Laptop keeps cutting off\r\nseems to get hot fast

• are the air vents blocked, vacum out
• check bios setting for the over heating setting and fans

The DV6000 series of notebooks have a problem with motherboard issues, to include WiFi Failure, video problems, and other issues. You can do your own research on this, but it is pretty widespread, to the dv2000, dv6000, and dv9000. Many HP owners were offered enhanced warranties, and at the minimum, received a discount on repair.
