My burned media from my new DVD Burner ASUS DRW-2014L1T isn't able to be read by my DVD Player

I've tried multiple programs, including Nero, and burned Video DVDs and data DVDs. But they won't play on my DVD player. I used the same discs (Memorex DVD-RW) before burning on my older PC, and it worked fine on the same DVD player. however, ever since i got this new burner, my DVD player won't read!

ASUS DRW-1814BL Burning Error (Burning Stops Abruptly)

try this one:
if you are using windows XP

- click start
- click run, in the run type in regedit
you will see a registry editor window
in the registry editor window
- click the + sign at the hkey_local_machine
- click the + sign of system
- click the + sign of currentcontrolset
- click the + sign of control
- click the + sign of class

there will be bunch of random letters and number under that control
try to find this one

if you click this check if you will be able to see DVD rom at the right side of the registry editor window
you must delete the upper and lower filters
after that restart the computer and try to put in dvds

for vista or win7

- click start and type in the start search regedit

after this just do the same thing with the win xp instructions

try also to update the DVD codec. you can also try to download the most updated windows media player, power DVD or any software/program that have dvd codecs or that acts like a player for DVD

i hope this works.

My asus dvd combo cannot read/write onto dvd disc,

try a reinstallation of your burning software if this fails to solve it , its most likely the burning laser diode has blown ( theres a burning ( writing diode ) and reading diode ) , theres no repair if thats the case

Dvd writing failing.

Your machine has more than enough specs to to the job

DVD's speeds are preset by the dvd itself under normal circumstances so trying to change speed may well cause it to fail.

If your dvd says 16x then the burning program will sense that and adjust accordingly.
If you try to burn faster the speed listed on your dvd then it is almost certain to fail.

Nero has tools that help to set it up for the drive that it is going to burn with nero speed and the info tool that usually ships with nero will run diagnostics on the drive and save these setting to use with the burning side of the programs.

I would suggest you re-set anything you might have changed in nero then run the tools and try again.

If you still have any issues post any further information back to this post so that we can assist you easier.

Try to burn a cd

Hi, make sure that you have the right type of CD or DVD in the burner. From what you have written about what you drive is it is a "_" not a "+". It actually makes a difference. You may have acidently bought the wrong type for your burner and this will bring up that error.

Check your CD's and give that a go.

depending on what the file you have theres several ways .You didn't say whether you want to copy or make a dvd movie so i'll give you a few ideas get nero once installed then you need a dvd writer-not a dvd rom the rom will only read and the write will write then get some dvd r+ or dvd rw + insert if you want to burn a file from your pc like a dvd movie which is in dvd format, not an avi file from a torrent site but a dvd rip then place a new dvd in your burner select nero and tell it to burn the dvd with the options for dvd if you want to copy a dvd use nero's options to copy there are other programs you can use it's all up to you
