HI. This will occur if your defrost module is malfunctioning. There are two types of defrost controllers. The first will be an adaptive control board. This will be located in the control housing, just above the heat shield, in the upper right had side. Older models will have a standard defrost timer mechanism. When these devices are malfunctioning, You will notice erratic defrosting cycles. I recommend to inspect the module, to confirm that it is set correctly, and is operating.
If equipped,The defrost timer is usually found behind the front grill "toe kick" of the refrigerator. It may also be found behind a cover plate inside the refrigerator or freezer, in the temperature control console, or behind the refrigerator near the compressor. It will have an adjustable dial. make sure it is set to a proper defrost interval.
NOTE_ If your unit is equipped with an adaptive defrost control board, and the defrost cycle is erratic, this will require you to replace the board. this type of defrost control module is not repairable.

I have a sibe-by-side GE refrigerator Model Number GSHL6PHXBELS and the icemaker has stopped working. The green LED above the power switch is blinking and I do not seem to have water running into the ice tray.
