I have set the screen resoloution to high for my monitor and now get a message saying "screen resoloution to high set to 1680 x 900" but cant reset it as all i get is the message and a blank...

First try shutting system down, unplug tower for 1 minute and restart. Give it time to come up and if that doesn't work, shut it down again and try to start in "safe mode" do you get any screen at all? If you can start in safe mode try going to "control panel'", "device manager" then "personaliztion", and adjust your resolution. If you can't adjust your resolution in safe mode do a "system restore" back to when monitor worked.

Picture is too large for screen

Adjust the display settings on the computer by right clicking anywhere on the desk top except on any of the icons - a blank area. Select properties then select display settings - adjust to the desired or correct resolution.

Right click on a blank area of the destop screen and select properties from the menu that pops up, adjust your monitor settings and refresh rate to that suggested and see if it helps. dont worry if you press something wrong and cant see properly, just dont press anything and the settings will revert back after 15 seconds.

The image leaves about 2.5 inches not used on each side of the monitor.

Hello,

The bands are caused by the monitor displaying a picture that is not the correct resolution. This model has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 according to LG - see http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/124873/review/w2353vpf.html#specs When you have your video card set to a different resolution that this the monitor tries to adjust the display to best fit the screen. The native or default resolution is 16:9 or wide-screen and if you have the video card displaying at 4:3 then you will have the blank bars displayed. Go to display properties and change your resolution to one that is 16:9 ratio and the bars should fill out.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

DELL E153FPf doesn't show the image

OSD Warning Messages A warning message may appear on the screen indicating that the monitor is out of sync range.
Cannot Display This Video Mode
This means that the monitor cannot synchronize with the signal that it is receiving from the computer. Either the signal is too high or too low for the monitor to use. See Specifications for the Horizontal and Vertical frequency ranges addressable by this monitor. Recommended mode is 1024x768 @ 60Hz.
Occasionally, no warning message appears, but the screen is blank. This could also indicate that the monitor is not synchronizing with the computer or the monitor is in a power save mode.

Cannot stop monitor adjustment box from comming up every minute or two ,very annoying, please help.

Hello,

A few suggestions.

1. check all cords- plugged in to computer, plugged into monitor- no bent pins etc..

2. Virus scan

3. Restore computer to a time before this problem ocurred.

4. A warning - Selecting incorrect monitor settings may damage some monitors. For information on the settings your monitor supports, see your monitor documentation.

I suggest that you adjust your monitor settings. you can right click on your desk top, go to properties, select settings, and advanced. I suggest that you make small minor adjustments.

How do I get the widescreen monitor to show unstretched images?

i had the same problem with my new widescreen monitor... turns out the best setting (at least, for my specific monitor) was 1440 by 900 pixels. at this setting the desktop still stretches itself to fill the entire screen, but everything else is completely unstretched. (to adjust the screen resolution, right click anywhere on the desktop, then go to properties, then settings.)
