This info I picked up from a kind of hackers site & don't have the said player, so, its hearsay:

You need a region free player or to change the region code to play region 1 [ NTSC formatted USA discs.]. To get your DVD to play NTSC or PAL enter the following commands:

(Press SETUP)
Press "Shift"
Press "Mark"
Press "Stop"
Enter "0,0,0"
Enter "87154"
Press "Shift"
Enter the region or press Fast Forward (for multi region) ....................sodeep
