I purchased lately a lithium battery charger with AA batteries 3.6 volts. I put them in my Pentax Optio S45 yesterday, and now it doesn't do anything. the screen is blank and whatever I press it doesn't do anything. Were the batteries too strong? What can i do now??
Yes , the battery's are too strong (higher voltage) for the camera. I am not as experienced with Pentax camera's but some camera's have a protective feature for a overload and will work fine if you put your original battery back.
If this is not the case , you probably blew the IC and this is a throw away problem as it will cost at least $100 to repair. Take it in for a evaluation anyways.
Feel free to contact me if you need more information.
