I would recommend that you take it back to the store where you purchased it. Or call tech support if your unit is under warranty. CLICK HERE for a link to Dell Tech support. Good Luck with that!

When the screen turns on does it show anything or does it turn on and go to black?
If it goes to straight black it could be two things typically. 1. The LCD screen is having an issue. Connection cable / LCD screen itself. 2. The Graphics Card has gone out.
This happens because you might have installed some new software and hardware on your system.
Reboot your system and start typing F8 key Check by selecting last known good configuration If this does not work then boot the system in safe mode and try system restore and restore your system to backdate when it was working good. You can also try removing some recently installed software or remove recent windows update.
I had the same problem with Mini NB300. Computer would start to boot and the screen would go black. I tried everything humanly possible and stumbled onto the solution to resolve it.
1. Plug the AC Adapter into the Notebook PC. 2. Press and hold the Power button for 5 Seconds to turn off the PC. 3. Press and hold the F10 key while you press the Power button to turn on the PC. Release the F10 key after text is displayed on the screen of the PC.
Hello imlapd. If you don't even see words on the screen when you first turn it on (the BIOS puts things on the screen before it boots to Windows), then there are 2 possible causes. First, the video output or something else on the motherboard is bad. Second, the LCD display (the laptop screen) has failed. The cost to fix either one of these will be close to what the laptop cost brand new if not more. The good news is, if your HP Mini is less than a year old or you got an extended warranty, HP will fix it for free. You just have to call their customer service.

Be prepared to provide the following information:
Serial Number (S/N), product name, model number, and a brief
description of the issue.
By "where I want to go", do you mean going on the internet? If all you are getting is a blank screen, then you have the "about:blank" virus. Go here, print out the instructions, and read them well. Then read them again and follow them closely. At one time I had it on a desktop system and the instructions worked just fine.
Remove the battery and the power supply. Hook it to wall power only w/o the battery and try to turn it on. If it boots great, otherwise pull the power from the unit while it tries to turn on. Plug it back in and try turning it on again. If that doesn't work you need to re-seat the RAM and/or processor. Last thing to try if that doesn't work is new RAM as a processor almost NEVER goes bad and it is either the RAM or the motherboard at that point.
