I just purchased my c530 a couple of days ago and had been loving it. I had added some custom POI's to my sd card using POI loader version 2.4.0 and that had worked fine. Then the other day I tried to load some new custom POI's, but POI loader got hung up and froze. After disconnecting the c530, I restarted it. After it started, a screen came up that said "No detailed maps found that support routing. The Streetpilot cannot be used without them." I contacted garmin, here is the site for contact info since I am unsure where you are. http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support/supportcontactand the tech support at Garmin. They said that somehow the files on my c530 must have gotten corrupted. The person I talked to at Garmin was very friendly and walked me through several things trying to get my unit to work. He was very apologetic and said that this should not have happened. He told me I would have to return it and get a replacement. Sorry Hope this helped.
Hi,
Pull the face off it, press the reset button, this may work,
If it will not reset, or work in the house or the car, the battery will need replacing, http://www8.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html
Around $100 for new battery
Regards.
You'll need to enter the serial number of your device, only after that you'll be able to select your c530 device from the list. However, if its not showing there then you can visit this link for update installation of your C530---
Did you reset it? lift off the cover plate by slipping your fingernail into the little slot just beneath the Garmin logo. There is a reset button hidden under the cover...
Have a c530 I purchased 11/2006. In 12/2006 had 3 instances where I shut unit off and it would not turn on. Garmin had me do resets which did nothing. Had to leave unit to discharge for 3 days, then plugged in USB and it powered up and was fine (for a week or so). They gave me a new unit and at the same time a system software upgrade was available. The c530 was perfect through all of 2007. Then in Jan 2008, the same failures occurred 3 times. I discharged it 3 times and it now works, but for how long? My advice is to get anoher model. I have 5, c330's for over a year and they have had 100% reliability. l
My Garmin c350 has a green screen after trying to update it for the first time and my computer will not read that it is connected.
It will not shut off after holding the power button down for 3 minutes
According to technical support, the "glitch" has been fixed with the latest web updater on the Garmin site. In the meantime, you will need to leave the unit unplugged for upto 48 hours to allow the battery die and the unit to get out of its "hang up". Once the battery is completely dead, plug the GPS into a computer (USB) and it should come back to life. Then do the update.
Found reset button. That worked.
