We need to have 3 different greetings. One is the day greeting for when we're open. One is for the night greeting. The third is for Friday afternoons (we can't let people know that we're closed). Once we started changing the greetings we started having trouble with people entering in extensions. Our greeting says that if you know your party's extension please enter it any time. We have 3 digit extensions starting with 1. When people enter them in the system only recognizes the 2nd and 3rd number of the extensions. Since most extensions are 102, 105, 109, etc. the system thinks that they are dialing for the operator and transfers the calls to the front office. We discovered that it has something to do with the touch tone gate greeting. The system recognizes the 1 as the caller telling it that they are calling from a touch tone phone. It then recognizes the rest of the numbers as the extension. If a caller dials 1109 it will transfer to extension 109 properly. When we change the touch tone gate greeting so you don't have to enter in a 1 we don't have an outgoing greeting telling people that they have reached Marquis. We can't make it work right no matter what. We are stuck right now.

I am trying to remove two "dead" phone lines from the call out rotation. Two of our numerous phone lines were cancelled. However, they continue to show up on the call out rotation. We would like to remove these. The main phone switchboard uses a Lucent Technologies MLX-20L.
