It is stuck in the DO NOT DISCONNECT MODE

I have the same problem.

my ipod videois stuck on disconnect mode even when i disconnect it from my computer. it's model #A1136. Please help!!!

everytime i plug in my ipod nano, the do not disconnect message comes on and i can't do anything with it

I think what you mean is when your done with the I-tunes software that the ipod is still in use. Your pc or your Mac is using the Ipod as a usb thumb drive.
To eject the "Proper way"
1. My Computer
2. Look for a new drive you have never seen before with the same lable as your Ipod. Mine says (Drive E: OtharIpod)
3: Right click on the drive and there will be an option that says Eject or Safely Remove.

This will let your pc know that the ipod is not to be used as a portable hd anymore.

well sync al your music and stuff that you want. then just disconnest the i-pod. and it should go away. and all your music should still be there.
