Question about Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens
I was in FS last year and brought in my speedlite 200E and after mounting it on the XTi and pointing into a dark area, the flash went off and the LCD displayed the picutre. All was ok,no problems but with the camera at home this time,it did not flash.I can't remember the settings but i wished i had written it down. Can anybody help?
The only way to solve the problem I see is to turn the flash into non-TTL one. It can be easy done by opening four screws at the connector side of the flash, unsoldering or cutting the BROWN line and closing the connector back. The AF assist led will work.
That I did on my 200E with Canon 400D camera and all works file.

The speedlight 200E is not E-TTL compatable. Which means you have to shoot with the flash in manual. My 400EZ doesn't work on XTi either. It really needs an EX flash to properly work with the digital EOS bodies.
