Question about Olympus DS-30 Digital Voice Recorder
after having installed the correct Windows Vista Home Premium version of the software for Olympus DS-30 and the icons for Diretrec and Device tools show on my task bar, when I plug the recorder through the USB cable i hear a sound, like the PC recognizing new hardware, but nothing else happens.
The software doesn't detect the device, and i've already uninstalled and reinstalled the software dozens of times, I've uninstalled a dozen other programs to see if it was an incompatibility problem, but it was useless.
Any idea on what to do to fix this problem?
Is there any other important information that is required to trace back the problem?
Can anyone help me with this one?
Thanks in advance, and all the best

Does the computer recognize the Olympus DS-30 being connected to it at all? If not, do you happen to have another USB cable that you could try using? Either way, you should try connecting it to a different USB port on your computer, as you might have happened to connect it to one that doesn't work.
